Abstract

This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows:

We will assess the effect on survival and other outcomes of an initial 1.5 to three minutes of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) administered by emergency medical service (EMS) rescuers before defibrillation versus immediate defibrillation when they arrive in patients experiencing an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA).
