  2. Abstract

This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows:

1) To determine whether long term dependent older people fare better if they are cared for in a domiciliary environment with enhanced home-care services, compared with placement in a long-term-care home.

2) To determine the impact on the informal caregivers of chronically dependent older people if the older person is cared for in a domiciliary environment with enhanced home-care services, compared with placement in a long-term-care home.
