This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows:
The objectives of this review are as follows.
- To determine the effect of a topical chlorhexidine application compared with the effect of a topical fluoride application for the prevention, arrest or reversal of caries lesions on deciduous and permanent teeth.
- To examine the optimum parameters of administration for the use of either fluoride- or chlorhexidine- containing products.
