Abstract

This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows:

  1. To assess the effectiveness of an oral whole-cell nontypeable H. influenzae (NTHi) vaccine in protecting against recurrent episodes of acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

  2. To assess the effectiveness of NTHi vaccine in reducing NTHi colonising the respiratory tract during recurrent episodes of acute exacerbations of COPD.
