This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows:

To assess the efficacy and safety of periodontal treatment in reducing rheumatoid arthritis disease activity and pain, and improving function, and reducing periodontitis in patients with both rheumatoid arthritis and periodontitis.
