Abstract

  2. Abstract

This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows:

To assess the benefits and harms of available point-of-care biomarkers of infection compared to 'standard care', e.g. no point-of-care biomarker used.
To compare different point-of-care biomarkers of infection as a method to guide antibiotic prescribing in patients presenting with symptoms of acute respiratory infections (ARIs) in primary care settings.
