  2. Abstract

This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows:

We will evaluate the effectiveness and safety of zinc supplementation for the promotion of growth and the prevention of infections in infants less than six months of age.

We will also evaluate if the effectiveness varies with respect to baseline plasma zinc levels, dose assigned, duration given, age of participant, and geographical setting (developed versus developing country) where the trial was conducted.
