Interventions for treating ankle fractures in children

  • Protocol
  • Intervention

This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows:

To assess the effects (benefits and harms) of interventions for treating ankle fractures in children.

Ankle fractures are a varied collection of injuries with different levels of complexity and severity. Thus, treatment uncertainty and outcome are likely to vary also. This aspect will be considered when reporting and interpreting the available evidence from trials making comparisons in the following main categories:

1. different conservative (non-surgical) interventions;
2. surgical versus conservative treatment;
3. different surgical interventions;
4. different types of postsurgical immobilisation.
