This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows:

The primary objective of this Cochrane review is to compare the benefits and harms of minimally invasive pancreatic necrosectomy (MIPN) for acute necrotising pancreatitis compared to open necrosectomy. The secondary objective is to compare techniques of MIPN.
