Abstract
A simple and sensitive 2H NMR measurement of 2H2O enrichment from a 10 μl volume of body fluid is presented. The method allows 2H-enrichment levels of 0.1% or above to be rapidly determined from 10 μl of plasma or urine. The measurement is insensitive to the presence of plasma protein, allowing direct analysis of 2H2O enrichment from native plasma samples. Magn Reson Med 45:156–158, 2001. © 2001 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
