Abstract
Aims and objectives of the symposium
To learn, share knowledge and expertise; to generate ideas and enthusiasm and to evaluate, innovate and stimulate increased awareness of current inequalities of care. The meeting was supported by the British Diabetic Association and sponsored by the Department of Health.
In memory
Two of the speakers at last year's symposium, who were always keen to support this meeting, died this year; we celebrate the tremendous work Professors Ahuja and De Bono did in this regard, as well as their other academic and clinical work.
