Does parameterization technique affect simulations of water fluxes?



Predictions of water fluxes and properties, including runoff, evapotranspiration, and groundwater recharge, are useful for regional water management. These properties are usually estimated using distributed hydrologic models, which simulate the spatial distribution of hydrologic variables as well as streamflow dynamics. These models often have a large number of unknown parameters, which are typically estimated for grid cells by a calibration process.
