Solar system's “heliotail”

NASA's Interstellar Boundary Explorer (IBEX) has provided the first view of the solar system's tail, known as the heliotail, in the downwind region of the heliosphere, scientists announced at a 10 July briefing and in the 10 July issue of Astrophysical Journal. Scientists previously had presumed that the solar system had a heliotail and have observed “astrotails” around other stars.
