Abstract

Weak interaction is one of the four known fundamental forces in Nature. H induces instability of many elementary particles. The interaction is mediated by particles called W and Z bosons and its structure has been understood in terms of so-called gauge theory. The origin of the mass of the W and Z bosons as well as quarks and leptons still remains to be clarified.
