Summary

The two way to increase fatigue limit of a component are described in this article.

Two kind of results are compared: the first one is related to the fatigue tests made on the machine component as it was designed, the second one is related to the tests made on a machine component modified in the area where the fatigue crack has appeared. The obtained results show as our methodology increases in a sensible way the endurance limit of a machine component.
