Summary

The fatigue threshold of aluminium alloys has not been studied in detail in the near-threshold region and the objective of the work reported here was to compare the behaviour of two traditional alloys (5754 and 6082) with two aluminium-lithium alloys (2091 and 8090) in the threshold stress intensity range.
