Summary

Developing a model to analyze the process of shot peening is useful for several reasons; to be able to predict the material state after peening without having to conduct costly experiments and to be able to optimize peening processes. In contrast to prior studies found in the literature, a more detailed approach by simulating several single impacts on a 3-dimensional surface is chosen to model the shot peening process.
