Summary

This paper describes briefly the design of an electrostatic levitation apparatus, based on that of Rulison and Rhim [13, 14]. The stability of the levitation has been tested with a number of different materials. The results of measurements of the heat capacity and the density of liquid Cu-Zr alloys, both stable and undercooled, are presented.
