Summary

The present paper gives a brief summary of some of the results on sintering equipment development and material selection for successful microwave sintering of industrially relevant ceramics, based on the collaboration between two material producers, two furnace manufacturers and two university institutes, involved in microwave sintering for several years. The potential of microwave sintering as an industrially viable technique will be discussed for oxide and nitride ceramics.
