Summary

The aim of this work was to investigate the tribological behaviour of the C/C-SiC composite material and its individual main components, carbon fibre reinforced carbon (C/C) and silicon carbide (SiC), and the influence of the materials thermal conductivity, modified by graphite components. This led to significantly improved, new C/C-SiC friction materials with high wear resistance and a high coefficient of friction (COF) even under high energy test conditions.
