Summary

During the last 25 years a lot of work has been done to improve inner quality and yield in continuous and semi-continuous casting. One of the methods proposed to accomplish this is high water cooling at the end of the liquid pool, so called Thermal Soft Reduction (TSR).

This paper will discuss how to use TSR in order to improve quality and yield for semicontinuous casting of copper alloys.
