Summary

In this article, our many-years research in this field is discussed and some new results are presented. Applying the KM theory together with some exact optical theories, the behavior of solar energy flux inside the coating system was analyzed. These results were the great help in defining the optimal PVC from the optical point of view: preparation of paint from higher PVC does not necessarily show the best covering efficiency in the UV-VIS spectral region. Low PVC is beneficial in transparency needed in the IR spectral region and for better adhesion properties. With suitably low PVC the price of solar collector is also reduced.
