Summary

Al18B4O33 whisker is good for the reinforcement of the aluminum alloy matrix composites because of the good mechanical properties and cost performance. In recent, this composite is used for the engine piston of the automobile in JAPAN motor company [4]. This whisker is good for the reinforcement of AZ91D alloy because of the high strength and heat stability of the composites [5]. In this study, in order to acquire the high performance magnesium matrix composite with good mechanical properties, the some kinds of the fabrication process and the matrix were investigated.
