Summary
Burnishing operations after the cutting process can be used to improve the characteristics of the machined surface. The effect of burnishing operations on surface formation and damage as well as on residual stresses in dependence on the burnishing force is presented. Burnishing velocity and burnishing feed rate showed only little influence on the machining result.
