Summary

In the present study, applying the retort method for covering surfaces of magnesium alloys with purified magnesium is attempted, that is, magnesium alloys are evaporated and the magnesium vapor is deposited on surfaces of other magnesium alloys. It is expected that the corrosion resistance is provided by high purity of coated films, and there is no deteriorative effects on recycling, because only magnesium is used in this technique. Moreover, scraps of magnesium alloys are usable for evaporation sources.
