Summary

An analytical method has been used to generate Quality Index charts for Mg-based casting alloys. The charts have been used to assess the effect of Al content, solution heat treatment, temper and wall thickness on the mechanical performance of sand castings and high pressure die castings of AZ91 and AM alloys, with data from the literature.
