Summary

HME expects that the hydrostatic extrusion technique is feasible for the extrusion of magnesium and magnesium alloys. Last year the board of directors decided to start a development program to evaluate the feasibility of this extrusion process. In this lecture we will inform you about the principles of hydrostatic extrusion, the possibilities, restrictions and results of an experimental programme.
