Abstract

As video data is widely used over the Internet, how to manage video efficiently is a challenging problem to many researchers. In this article, we examine various issues and techniques applicable to video databases (VDBs). In particular, we start with examining VDB low-level features, which include feature extraction, similarity measures, and video indexing. We then study the conceptual level facilities embodied by data models and query languages.
