Censoring is a special form of missing data that arises in a wide variety of situations. Censoring occurs whenever the measurement is restricted to some specific range, but the values being measured can lie outside the range. Proper statistical analysis of such data requires specific adjustments, some of which are described here. Serious errors in inference can be made if censoring is not taken into account properly.
