Abstract

Random fields provide a framework to address both spatial and spatial-temporal random structure and have served as a key modeling tool since the 1950s. Adler's text in 1981 on the geometry of random fields served as a foundational piece [1] and currently has well over 1500 citations at the time of this article. This article is adapted from Adler's original submission [2] with updated references.
