Summary

Physical properties of pottery plaster molds are affected by various mixing parameters utilized in the mold shop. A series of experiments was conducted to measure effects of mixing parameters on mold variability and to provide some understanding of causes of these variations. Data are presented showing the effect of mixing parameters on compressive strength, absorption rate, setting expansion, and drying shrinkage. This data are further documented by crystallography studies.
