Summary

Through modifications in binder burnout schedule, firing schedule, and build design, robust torsional ceramic actuator segments were fabricated using laminated object manufacturing (LOM). the lead zirconate titanate (PZT) trapezoidal segments were incorporated into two polygonal torsional actuator tubes. the tubes were used to build a full cycle piezoelectric motor that achieved a speed of 400 rpm at resonant peak frequency.
