Summary

This paper describes the various mineral processing techniques used in the preparation of glass sand: hydrocyclones, attrition scrubbers, hydrosizers, magnetic separators, and flotation. Test data from glass sand throughout the world are presented to show the benefit of the various types of equipment. In light of the need for better-quality raw materials, future equipment developments are discussed.
