Summary

Mechanical properties of composite tubes fabricated from Nextel fibers using the FCVI process were characterized. Properties include response to axial tensile and compressive loads, axial torsion, and internal pressure loading. Tensile strength and internal pressure burst tests are being conducted to determine the strength of the tubes under different load conditions.
