Summary

The use of several types of statistically designed experiments to identify important manufacturing variables and to optimize compositional and processing parameters are discussed. Results from screening designs, response surface designs, multidimensional factors space (extreme vertices) experiments and Taguchi methods are discussed and compared. A regimen to develop optimized products is presented.
