Summary

Polycrystalline zirconia fibers containing tetragonal zirconia and alumina were produced by the sol-gel method. The rheological properties of the sols were related to the fiber drawing process. Thermal behavior and microstructure of the fibers were characterized with respect to the additives, yttria and alumina.
