Summary

The major issues involved in the design of brazing alloys for joining ceramics are presented. The results of wetting tests on silicon nitride reveal that titanium and zirconium are promising reactive metal additions to these alloys. Results of microstructural analysis, SEM, and electron microprobe analysis of the wetted samples are also presented.
