Summary

The most important global technological innovations in floor tile production since 1960 are viewed in light of the enhancements of capacities and their effects on production costs and quality. The participation of the floor tile industry in the world's ceramic production is discussed. The development in the past few decades is described in detail. In this context, dry pressing and wet extrusion are discussed. The expected technological developments are given final consideration.
