Summary

After an analysis of significance and limits of the PEI method of measurement of abrasion resistance, a test method is proposed to characterize the cleanability of ceramic tile, and, in glazed ceramic tile, how cleanability decreases after abrasion wear. The results of the cleanability measurements complete the picture of the performance of glazed ceramic tile in working conditions, with regard to abrasion resistance.
