Summary

Si3N4 matrix composites containing 25 vol% beneficiated or beneficiated heat-treated SiC(w) were prepared by turbomilling and pressure filtration, followed by hot pressing. Flexural strength and fracture toughness are compared to composites prepared from as-received SiC(w).
