Summary

Interfacial shear strength testing of a SiC fibre reinforced glass-ceramic has been carried out at elevated temperatures. The test method used is a hot hardness tester with a Vickers indenter. The samples tested were exposed to temperature for specific time schedules in air and inert atmosphere. TEM studies accompany the high temperature mechanical testing to explain the stucture of the interface.
