Summary

Mechanical properties of SiC/SiC and C/SiC composites made by Chemical Vapor Infiltration (CVI) were analyzed using microcomposite specimens. Residual thermal stresses were determined first. Then the mechanical behavior of the interphase and matrix and fiber failure characteristics were discussed.
