Summary

Super-high strength glass-metal electrical components able to withstand hydrostatic pressures in excess of 689 MPa (100 000) psi have been fabricated. The design of these components, which combines high tensile strength superalloys with a multi-component lithia-alumina-silica glass-ceramic, is of critical importance in obtaining these super-high strengths.
