Summary

A heat-treatment controller was developed which consists of a thermocouple, a controller, mounted to an electrical enclosure which contains solid-state relays, heat sink, contractor, receptacle, power cord, and other necessary electrical components. The system is designed to heat an electric kiln to an operator-specified temperature at one of three operator-selected heating rates, then hold for a selected time before shutting the kiln off.
