Summary

Laboratory studies of refractories with different binders such as calcium atuminates phosphates and sodium silicates, were considered for abrasion resistant applications. Petrographic analysis and X-ray diffraction techniques were used to evaluate the products. Phosphate-bonded refractories with a major content of the corundum phase gave better results.
