Summary

This paper presents recent correlations of nondestructive evaluation (NDE) and fractography results to establish the relative effectiveness of various NDE techniques in detecting and identifying failure-causing flaws in hot-pressed Si3N4. Ultrasonic and low-kV X-ray data are compared with fractography results.
