Summary

Strain sensors have been specially developed for on-vehicle truck and farm tractor load measuring applications. The sensors are surface mounted onto load-bearing members of vehicles. Strain-gage sensing elements are used to measure strain in elastic members which are part of the transducer assembly. The sensing elements are either fabricated by thin film deposition techniques or by attachment of custom foil strain gages.
