Abstract

The Australian Society for Operations Research Inc. has fostered the profession of OR in Australia since 1972 and has served as a platform for exchange of ideas between practitioners. The ASOR bulletin was founded in 1981 and its aims to provide news of ASOR activities, book reviews, Australian problem descriptions and solution approaches. ASOR organizes its national conference every two years to keep up to date with operations research issues in Australia and overseas. The ASOR official web-site (http://www.asor.org.au) was set up in 2006 to present the latest information about the members. The society continues to serve as an important organization for operations researchers to communicate with each other and to reach out to other professional societies.
