Abstract

Blotto games are a class of two-person zero–sum game where each player must allocate a budget of some kind among several independent areas. In each area, the payoff depends only on the two allocations to that area, and the total payoff is the sum of the individual area payoffs. The class has properties that permit the solution of large games and includes numerous military applications. This article discusses applications and solution methods.
