Aging is accompanied by many physiological changes, with behavioral and psychological concomitants. To illustrate, we describe selected age-related physiological changes in two sensory systems (vision and hearing) and in the cardiovascular and musculoskeletal systems, and we review the resulting effects of these changes on behavioral and psychological phenomena. Readers should note that many of these changes are not inevitable consequences of aging.
